About Dr. Swati Jha

Dr. Swati Jha is a paediatrician and public health leader with over two decades of clinical and development-sector experience. She holds an MBBS (LHMC, Delhi), DCH (Kasturba Hospital, Delhi), MPH (TISS, Mumbai), and an AMPH certification from ISB.

As Programme Director of Health Outreach at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, she leads preventive healthcare across Mumbai's underserved communities — from maternal and child health to chronic disease screening to disaster-response teams deployed in India and Nepal. During the 2021 COVID-19 wave, she led one of Mumbai's largest urban vaccination drives in collaboration with the MCGM, organising close to 5 lakh vaccinations in underserved areas. She has co-published research in public health, chronic diseases, and nutrition, and is a life member of the IAP, IAPC, and IPHA.

SlumDoc India is her personal space to live out her first dream of becoming an author and share stories from the field — reflections on practising medicine with empathy, small victories that keep a team going, and the systemic challenges that still need solving.
